This is a Wayne Gretzky Game-Used Easton Silvertip stick from the 1996-1997 season. This was the first stick that Wayne ever used as a New York Ranger, in October of 1996. The stick shows heavy use, and has Wayne's "Jack the Gripper" on the handle. The wooden blade is stamped "GRETZKY" and the tape has been removed for an autograph which reads: "To Mike, Thanks For All Your Help! Your Friend, Wayne Gretzky 99, First Ranger Stick, Oct 1996." The end of the stick has an underlined "1" written on it in black marker, which I was told was written to indicate this as his first stick. The stick originated with Former New York Rangers equipment manager Mike Folga, and comes with COA's from both Folga and Classic Auctions.
